Meeting with his Georgian counterpart on Thursday, the vice-chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's Parliament said the two countries' diplomacy must enjoy common economic plans.


The vice-chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's Parliament Abbas Moghtadai participated in the Meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Yerevan.

In the meeting, Abbas Moghtadai met with his Georgian counterpart George Khelashvili and said the ties between the two countries must be expanded at an accelerating pace.

George Khelashvili for his part referred to the good ties with Iran and said Georgia sought the expansion of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.

He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran had a special place in Georgia's foreign policy.

Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) meeting was held in the Armenian capital city Yerevan with the participation of 128 representatives from the member states including Secretary-General Stanislav Zas.

CSTO is an intergovernmental military alliance in Eurasia. The CSTO consists of select post-Soviet states. The treaty had its origins in the Soviet Armed Forces, which was replaced by the United Armed Forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and then by the successor armed forces of the respective independent states.
