FM spox reiterates Iran's full compliance with NPT

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reiterated Iran's full compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty and said the country fully observes its commitments to it.

His remarks came in response to a recent report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He said all of Iran's nuclear programs and activities have been conducted in full compliance with the NPT terms and under the IAEA supervision with prior notice.

As for Iran's reduction and compensatory measures related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he said that, as stated several times before, they were taken in response to the extensive violation of the JCPOA and the 2231 resolution and also the fact that the other signatories of the document especially the three European ones were not loyal to their commitments.

Obviously, he noted, Iran will pursue its peaceful nuclear program only based on its needs as recognized by its government within the framework of its NPT commitments till the US and other JCPOA parties start to fully and unconditionally implement the content of the nuclear document.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman further underscored Iran's nuclear program's civilian and peaceful nature and all Iran's JCPOA reduction and compensatory measures will be reversible once other parties, including the US, fully remove unilateral and anti-Iranian sanctions in a verifiable manner.
