Tasnim Ranking diplomats from Iran and New Zealand held the 7th meeting of the Joint Commission on Political-Economic Cooperation via videoconference.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his New Zealand counterpart co-chaired the online meeting on Monday.
They discussed various topics, including bilateral political and economic issues, sanctions, latest developments pertaining to the JCPOA, sharing of experiences in tackling the coronavirus pandemic, and the stances of the two countries on regional and international issues.
Araqchi praised the New Zealand government for supporting the 2015 nuclear deal and welcomed its membership in the International Atomic Energy Agencys Board of Governors.
The deputy foreign minister also expressed Irans readiness to maintain and boost the trade ties with New Zealand with new mechanisms under the pressure of sanctions and the coronavirus outbreak.
