The Wall Street Journal | Felicia Schwartz: The United Arab Emirates made a rare appeal to the Israeli public, offering closer security and commercial ties between the two Middle East nations if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu backed away from his move to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.

The U.A.E.�s ambassador to the U.S., Yousef Al Otaiba, on Friday published an op-ed in a large Hebrew daily, a first for a Gulf diplomat, singling out several potential areas for warmer ties, including between the Emirati and Israeli militaries.
