A total of $450 million worth of chocolate and pastry were exported from Iran during the last fiscal year (March 2019-20).
According to Jamshid Maghazei, the head of Iran's Association of Confectionery, Chocolate and Biscuit Industries, Iraq and Afghanistan are major export destinations for Iranian pastry and chocolate.
Other destinations include the US, Japan, Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States and European countries, especially those of Eastern Europe.
