SHANA -- The CEO of Golestan Province Gas Company announced that 100% of the urban population and 96% of the rural population of the province benefited from natural gas supplied by the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

Mohammad Rahim Rahimi said 289 km gas pipeline was laid in the urban and rural regions of the province, located in northern Iran, in the calendar year of 1398 which ended on March 19.

He said 240 km were laid in rural regions and 49 km in urban areas.

The official added that in the year, 6,111 new connections were added to the province�s network of which 2,073 were for urban and 4,038 were for rural consumers. Moreover, 18,000 new subscribers joined the group of natural gas consumers in the province.
