Financial Tribune - A total of 120,068 tons of goods worth $36.73 million were exported via Astara railroad in the northern Gilan Province last year.
According to Rasoul Omidi, a local official, exports mainly included home appliances, ceramic kitchenware, clinker and cement, stones and fruit, ILNA reported.
Some 227,158 tons of goods worth over $70.06 million, including MDF boards and grains, were imported through Astara railroad during the same period.
Astara is a city on the border with Azerbaijan Reublic. There is an eponymous city on the other side of the border in Azerbaijan.
