IRNA - An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale shook the Iranian district Qaleh Qazi, Hormuzgan Province on Monday.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 05:19 p.m. local time (13:49 GMT) and at the depth of 20 km underground.
No report has been so far released on the possible casualties or damages.
Iran sits on major faultlines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
