Financial Tribune - Mobarakeh Steel Company had the largest share of steel production in Iran with an output of 11.9 million tons in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Nov. 21).

The company produced 5.62 million tons of finished steel during the period, posting no change compared with last year's corresponding period.

In addition, 6.28 million tons of semi-finished products were produced by MSC, registering a 1% decline year-on-year, the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization�s latest report shows.

Located in southwestern Isfahan, Mobarakeh Steel Company is the biggest steel producer in Iran and the Middle East & North Africa region.

In terms of finished steel production, MSC was followed by Esfahan Steel Company with 1.51 million tons (up 7% YOY), Oxin Steel Company with 525,432 tons (up 21% YOY), Khorasan Steel Company with 411,955 tons (up 11% YOY), Azarbaijan Steel Company with 238,930 tons (up 6% YOY) and IASCO with 204,971 tons�176,122 tons of rebar (up 9% YOY) and 28,849 tons of �other products� (up 326% YOY).
