Suns waive Hamed Haddadi

TEHRAN,July. 1 (MNA) The Phoenix Suns have waived Hamed Haddadi, paying him $200,000 rather than letting a $1.4 salary for 2013-14.
Haddadi was acquired February 21 along with a second-round pick from the Toronto Raptors for Sebastian Telfair.

I think its normal. It also happens to the big NBA names, Haddadi told Tehran Times correspondent in a telephone interview.

I will speak to my agent. Now, I am in Iran but I will make the best decision as soon as possible, he added.

Haddadi appeared in 17 games for the Suns averaging 4.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 13.8 minutes per game.

The Phoenix Suns have traded backup point guard Sebastian Telfair to the Toronto Raptors for center Hamed Haddadi and a second-round pick.

The 7-2 center became the first Iranian-born player in NBA history when he made his debut with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008-09.

Haddadi, who played his first four-plus seasons with the Grizzlies (2008-13), was part of the Jan. 30 trade between Memphis and Toronto that sent Rudy Gay to the Raptors.
