Press TV - Team Iran have registered their first victory in the 2019 Volleyball World Cup after defeating Canada 3 sets to 1.


The Canadian were better side of the match and grabbed the opener 25-18.

But, the Asian powerhouses regrouped and took the second set 25-23.

Team Iran kept the momentum in the next two sets and overpowered their opponent after defeating them 27-25 and 25-19 respectively.

Iran will next meet Australia on Saturday in the event, which is currently underway in Japan.
