Putin, Rouhani to meet in Turkey

IRNA - Press Secretary for the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov referred to President Vladimir Putins plan to attend Iran-Russia-Turkey upcoming trilateral meeting in Ankara, saying he will hold separate bilateral meetings with his Turkish and Iranian counterparts.

Peskov said that the trilateral meeting of Iran, Russia and Turkey is to be held to address situation in Syria and Astana format.

Earlier, Iran's presidential office director for communications and information Parviz Esmaili said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is to visit Ankara on Sunday to attend Iran-Russia-Turkey trilateral summit.

Rouhanis visit will be at the official invitation of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, Esmaili said.

He is also to deliver speech in the 5th round of Iran-Russia-Turkey trilateral meeting which will be held in line with consultation of the Astana peace guarantors on Monday, he added.

All parties will also discuss developing trilateral cooperation in various field and also regional interactions, the Iranian official noted.

He went on to say that President Rouhani is to hold separate meetings with presidents of Russia and Turkey on bilateral issues.

A high-ranking politico-economic delegation will accompany Rouhani during his trip to Turkey.

Presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey have for four times had joint meetings on fighting regional terrorism and bringing back peace, refugees and establishing political stability in Syria.

Meanwhile, the three countries have held Astana meetings for solving the issue without the intervention of foreigners in internal affairs of Syria.

The 13th round of Astana talks were held in Kazakhstan on August 1-2 and the 14th edition will be held in October.
