FNA - Commander of the Iranian Border Guards Brigadier General Qassem Rezayee said that full security prevails at all bordering areas of the country, stressing that Iran and Pakistan have been able to defuse the enemies' plots at common borders through cooperation.
"Fortunately, full security prevails over the country's borders given the correct management of border guards," Rezayee said, addressing a ceremony in the Western city of Ilam on Monday.
Elsewhere, he underscored good relations with Pakistan, saying, "The enemies' plots and tricks in areas near the borders have been foiled through mutual cooperation and vigilance of the border guards."
General Rezayee said that the Iranian border guards prevented trafficking of over 58 tons of narcotics into the country last year.
In similar remarks last Tuesday, Rezayee assured the nation that full security prevailed in all borders of the country, adding that campaign against the trafficking of illicit drugs continued powerfully.
"Good security prevails at the borders of Islamic Iran despite the existing threats," General Rezayee said in the Southwestern province of Khuzestan.
He underlined highly good security measures at the Eastern borders of Iran, shared with Pakistan and Afghanistan, saying, "Our efforts continue powerfully to fight against the smuggling of goods and trafficking of drugs."
General Rezayee said that the Iranian border guards and their commanders have very good cooperation with their counterparts in the neighboring states to establish desirable security at all borders and prevent the traffic of foreigners.
