Iran stresses UNGA
IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Head of the UN General Assembly Maria Fernanda Espinosa in a meeting in New York discussed the role of the UNGA in solving international problems.

Talking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Thursday, Spokesperson for the President of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Monica Grayley said that UNGA chief appreciated Zarif for his commitment to multilateralism and attending the high-profile meeting on multilateralism and diplomacy for peace.

They underscored role of the UNGA as the most democratic section of the UN in addressing global challenges, she said, noting that US structural reforms, peace and security were among the other topics dealt with during the meeting.

Zarif arrived in New York late Tuesday to attend the United Nations General Assembly annual Conference on 'Remarking and Promoting International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace'.
