IRNA Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday evening.
Ayatollah Khamenei met with the Pakistani prime minister and his accompanying delegation, the official website of the Supreme Leader reported.
Imran Khan is visiting Tehran for the first time after his election as the Pakistani premier in August 2018.
The visit is taking place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of establishment of Iran-Pakistan relations.
Prior to Tehran, Imran Khan was in the holy city of Mashad on pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam.
President Hassan Rouhani officially welcomed the Pakistani prime minister on Monday and the two countries' high-ranking officials are expected to sign a number of cooperation documents.
