IRNA - Pakistan on Thursday confirmed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will pay an official visit to Iran in the near future.
Pakistan Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal replying to a question of IRNA at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad said the details of Prime Ministers visit would be announced later.
Yes I confirm the visit and the details of the visit would be shared in due course, he said.
Earlier Pakistani media had reported that Prime Minister Imran Khan will soon make a maiden visit to Tehran during which he will hold formal talks with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and also meet the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Meanwhile talking to IRNA, foreign ministry sources said that Prime Minister will be visiting China on April 27 and it is expected that he would visit Iran before that.
The visit has been due since Imran Khan took over as prime minister in August last year.
In a recent interaction with a group of journalists, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said soon there will be very good news for Pakistan-Iran relationship.
