Mazandaran's non-oil exports rise by 60%

IRNA - Non-oil exports from the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran rose nearly by 60 percent in value during the last Iranian fiscal year (March 21, 2018-March, 20 2019), an Iranian official said.

'668,000 tons of goods worth nearly $1.6 billion were exported from this province to other countries,' Mazandaran Customs Administration Managing Director Ali Yousefi Manesh said on Saturday.

'This shows a 58% and 6% growth in value and volume compared with last year's corresponding period,' he added.

Dairy products made up the bulk of Mazandaran exported items, that is 64 percent of all the exports during the indicated period.

Ice cream, cement, machinery, plastic and edible oil comprised the rest of non-oil exports from the northern Iranian province of Mazandran that lies on the Caspian Sea, the official noted.

Iraq, Kazakhstan, Russia, Afghanistan and India were the top five destinations for the exports from Mazandaran, he mentioned.

Yousefi Manehs explained that at the same time, imported items from Mazandaran Customs Administration saw a rise of 19% and 49% in volume and value. Barley and corn for animal feed, fat and animal and vegetable oil, paper and electronic devices were imported into Iran from this northern Iranian province customs.
