IRNA German envoy to Iran Michael Klor Berchtold in a message sympathized with Iranian flood-stricken people in northern Iran and expressed readiness to help them.

Golestan and Mazandaran provinces north of the country have been affected by heavy rains for the past few days. Flood forced people in many areas to flee and Aqqala and Gomishan cities in Golestan province were evacuated in order to prevent human losses.
Earlier in a message, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a message expressed deep regret over losses imposed on people after the destructive flood and underlined popular and governmental aids for flood-stricken people.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani during his trip to Mazandaran province called for aiding the people in the flood-hit regions and preparing the grounds for reconstruction of the infrastructure in these areas.
In the meantime, Iran's Minister of Interior Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli after visiting the flood-hit regions in Golestan province said that the people have access to their basic needs and the aid workers are doing their best to return people to normal life.
Also, Mohammad-Esmaeil Najjar, Head of the Iranian National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO) and Deputy Interior Minister said that the government will continue its support for people and will provide financial assistance to them.
Meanwhile, General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in a statement expressed the armed forces' preparedness to help the people in the flood-hit regions.
