IRNA -- Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev said on Friday that his country will do is best to expedite implementation of joint economic projects with Iran.
Talking to IRNA at the end of the 13th Meeting of Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission on Friday, he added that the two countries ties will improve in the fields of oil and gas, transportation and transit, electricity, trade, investment and tourism.
Referring to joint strategic efforts to complete international transportation north-south corridor, Mustafayev pointed out that the issue has been mentioned in the final memorandum of understanding of the joint commission based on which the two sides will continue cooperation in construction of Rasht-Astara segment of the corridor.
The 13th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in Baku on March 14-15.
The meeting discussed ways to expand cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan in the areas of investment, trade, finance and banking, customs and border issues, communications, energy and environment, agriculture, food security and health, science and education, and culture.
Farhad Dejpasand, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran, attended the meeting.
