Munich Security Conference opens with Zarif in attendance
IRNA The 55th Munich Security Conference (MSC) kicked off on Friday with Irans Foreign Minister in attendance.

Chairman of MSC ?Wolfgang Ischinger uttered a long German word containing 48 letters meaning We need a strategy in order not to lose the ability of influencing world affairs.

It is not enough to wait and see so that continuation of the disputes influence the future of the youth and coming generations across the world, he said.

German Defense Minister Ursula Gertrud von der Leyen also told the gearing that NATO is more than a military unity, as it is considered a political unity.

The 55th Munich Security Conference attended by 600 international decision makers in various fields, including politics, trade and civil society, will be held from February 15-17 to deal with current crises and future challenges.

Today, the conference is to mainly focus on International Defense and Trade Cooperation.

Zarif arrived in Germany on Friday morning to participate in 2019 Munich Security Conference.

In addition to delivering speech in the conference, Zarif will hold talks with the political figures attending the ongoing event.

Munich Security Conference is held annually in the German city of Munich since 1963 with the aim of providing an opportunity for the political, economic, scientific and military officials from around the world to explore ways of maintaining peace and establishing security.
