Iran's housing inflation lags behind overall CPI rise

Financial Tribune - The overall goods and services Consumer Price Index in Iran registered an increase of 39.6% during the month to Jan. 20 month-on-month, while the housing sector experienced a year-on-year inflation of 24.2%

Iran's housing sector experienced a year-on-year inflation of 24.2% in the Iranian month Dey (Dec. 22, 2018-Jan. 20).

The Statistical Center of Iran's latest report shows that Consumer Price Index measured for the housing sector (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 136.7 for the month under review, indicating a 1.1% rise compared with the previous month.

The average CPI in the 12-month period ending Jan. 20 increased by 16.2% compared with last years corresponding period.

The year-on-year inflation for urban and rural areas stood at 24.7% and 17.1% respectively.
