i24news - Syrias UN Ambassador Bashar al-Jaafari strongly denounced IAF's military operations against Iranian targets on Syrian soil on Tuesday, on the heels of Israel's latest air raid in Syria.
Talking to the United Nations' Security Council, the official wondered whether Syria should retaliate in kind and strike Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
The official said that should the UN fail to adopt measures to halt the strikes, Damascus would have no choice but to practice its legitimate right of self-defense, responding in kind to the Israeli strikes on Damascus International Airport.
"Isnt time now for the UN Security council to stop the Israeli repeated aggressions on the Syrian Arab republic territories," al-Jaafari was quoted by Syria's official SANA news agency as saying.
He also slammed Israel over its "unlawful occupation" of the Golan Heights.
The strategically important plateau was captured by Israel from Syria in the 1967 six day war, and finally annexed by Israel in 1981 during Menachem Begins period as prime minister.
