Highest, lowest inflation across Iranian provinces (Dec 2018)

Financial Tribune - The overall goods and services Consumer Price Index in Iran registered a year-on-year increase of 37.4% in the Iranian calendar month of Azar (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) compared with the similar month of last year.

The index for Ilam Province had a YOY increase of 44.4% for the month, the highest among all Iranian provinces.

The year-on-year CPI increase was the lowest for Qom with 30.9%, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.

The overall CPI calculated for the country (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 151.7 for the month, indicating a 2.6% rise compared with the previous month.

The growth in the overall CPI compared with the previous month, Aban (Oct. 23-Nov. 21), was the highest (4.4%) for Bushehr Province and lowest (1.7%) for Sistan-Baluchestan.

The overall goods and services CPI in Iran for the 12-month period ending December 21, increased by 18% compared with last years corresponding period.

Lorestan registered the highest average annual inflation with 21.9% while Kerman posted the lowest of 14.2%.

Annual inflation gap felt by Iranian households among Iranian provinces was at 7.7% in Azar, indicating a 0.7% increase compared with the month before.
