IRNA President Hassan Rouhani stressed the need for creating and strengthening Kish Island tourism infrastructures to help attract further foreign tourists, especially from regional states.
In a meeting with managing director of Kish Free Zone Gholamhossein Mozaffari on Sunday, he hailed unparalleled capacities and unique location of Kish Island and called for accelerating implementation of developmental and tourism projects in the island.
Rouhani also urged attracting Iranian investors residing in foreign countries.
Given the fact that restrictions for buying real estates for double-national individuals were lifted, grounds are ready for absorbing capitals of Iranians living abroad, the chief executive said.
Construction of proper halls for holding international conferences, setting up exports base for handicrafts including carpet, medicinal herbs and establishing packaging industries based on international standards were among the cases stressed by the president.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mozaffari presented a report on capacities and capabilities of the Kish Island as well as the situation of the projects and ongoing measures in the Island.
New terminal of Kish International Airport, dredging jetty, refurbishing sports spaces are among the projects under implementation, the official said.
Kish is an island in the Persian Gulf, off the southern coast of Iran.
