Tasnim Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami highlighted the US failures in the face of the Iranian nation and said Washington has learned the art of being defeated.
Speaking at a ceremony held in Tehran on Sunday to mark the anniversary of the massive rallies held on December 30, 2009, known as Dey 9 epic, Brigadier General Salami said the event is just one of the occasions in which the great nation of Iran defeated the US.
He further pointed to the US withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and said Washingtons move to walk away from the deal indicates that it is confused about world leadership and lacks a strategy to lead the world.
The commander went on to say that the US has learned the art of being defeated in the face of Iran.
The remarks came as various cities of Iran saw people from different walks of life pouring to the streets on Sunday to mark the Dey 9 epic.
The day has been designated in the Iranian calendar as the day of insight and nations allegiance to religious leadership.
Massive rallies on December 30, 2009, put an end to a period of occasional street riots and unrest that erupted after the presidential election, and gained notoriety later as the sedition of 88.
The rioters had not even respected the highly-revered religious sanctities of the Iranian nation, holding jubilant demonstrations on Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
