FNA - Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Mehdi Honardoost, in a meeting with Pakistans Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, discussed ways to broaden security cooperation between the two neighboring countries, and exchanged views on expanding military cooperation.
Matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting, at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi, according to a statement issued by military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Iran and Pakistan have exchanged many military delegations in the recent past years, and the two countries have voiced their resolute determination to broaden military and defense cooperation.
In a related development on November 28, Chief of Pakistan's Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi underlined his country's willingness to sign a Naval agreement with Iran.
In late November, Iranian Army Deputy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari visited Pakistan, and, in two separate bilateral meetings with high-ranking military officials of Islamabad, exchanged views on ways to broaden military and defense cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
Two weeks later, a Pakistani military delegation, headed by Assistant Chief of Air Staff Training in Pakistan Air Force Air Commodore Imran Qadir, visited Shahid Babayee Air Base in Irans Central province of Isfahan in mid-December.
