Brighton and Hove Independent - Brighton & Hove Albion will be without wingers Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Jose Izquierdo for their festive home fixtures with Arsenal and Everton. Jahanbakhsh, who has missed the last seven matches with a hamstring injury, joins up with the Iran squad for the Asian Cup today.
Al Albion manager Chris Hughton said: "We've liased long and hard with their medical staff and he's at a stage where we're happy for him to go. If that wasn't the case, we would keep him for longer before he went. But it's international football and ultimately they have the right to take him and assess him." Izquierdo has been out for three games after limping off with a knee injury in the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace earlier this month.
He is set to miss the next two games but Hughton said the Colombian winger is making good progress. Shane Duffy is back available after a three-game ban for the Arsenal game but Lewis Dunk is out through suspension after his red card at Bournemouth on Saturday.
