Golestan exports surpass $202 million

IRNA - Director General of Golestan's customs announced that from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21) to mid-December 295,000 tons of goods worth 202 million and $151,849 have been exported to other countries.

Seyyed Ebrahim Hosseini added on Sunday that the province's export of goods increased 75 percent in terms of weight and 57 percent in terms of value compared to the corresponding period of last year.

'Golestan's major export commodities include all kinds of rebar and iron, dairy products, cement, tomato paste and polystyrene, mostly exported to neighboring countries such as Turkmenistan, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey and Afghanistan,' he added.

Hosseini said that part of Golestan merchandise exports amounted to 27,334 tons worth $13.260122 million via the Inche Boroun Railroad.

He also said about the import to Golestan Customs, 'Over past 9 months, 47,380 tons of goods worth $22 million arrived in the province, which showed a five percent decline compared to the same period last year.
