MNA Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at Japans House of Representatives has voiced his countrys readiness to expand cooperation and interaction with Iran in line with boosting Tehran-Tokyo ties.
Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at Japans House of Representatives, Kenji Wakamiya, made the remark in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Tokyo, Morteza Rahmani-Movahed, on Friday.
During the meeting, the Japanese side highlighted the impact of parliamentary cooperation on developing relations between the two countries, and voiced readiness on behalf of Japans House of Representatives to strengthen ties with Iran in the light of the 90th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Iran and Japan next year.
The Iranian ambassador, for his part, noted his recent meetings with a number of senior Japanese officials, and underscored the role of the two countries parliaments on expansion of ties between the two sides.
Rahmani-Movahed also extended an invitation for an official visit to Tehran on behalf of Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iranian Parliament Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, which was warmly welcomed by the Japanese side.
