Pirates receiving information, equipment: Iran Naval Force Cmdr

IRNA - The Naval force Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran considers the presence of pirates in the Gulf of Aden and the Strait of Bab-el-Mandeb as political- economic game saying the pirates are provided information and equipment for their activities.




In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency, Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said that the pirates who are not familiar with the sea but also go from the coast to sea; how can it be easy to operate in front of all these satellites, which are mainly spying.

'If the pirates don't get information, how would it be possible to intercept a tanker ship in a few hundred miles of the sea with small boats,' Khanzadi said, noting pirates are taking information.

'What we see in the Gulf of Aden and the Strait of Bab-el-Mandeb as pirates is the political- economic game,' said Adm.

The Naval Force Commander of Iran underlined, 'When a certain area is known as an unsafe area, it means that the price of insurance, job wages, and overall shipping costs and cargo transport are expensive.

'The countries acting under the banner of the global arrogance are mischievous, take political interest and plan to cripple the economic cycle of the region,' Khanzadi said.
