MNA � Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iranian Parliament said that the JCPOA is not merely a nuclear deal, but it shows the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields at the international level.







Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iranian Parliament Heshmatollah�Falahatpisheh�made the remarks in a meeting with the ambassador of Serbia to Tehran Dragan Todorovic on Tuesday.

Falahatpisheh referred to Iran�s significant role in preventing drug trafficking to Europe, saying �the Islamic Republic of Iran has always fought against the trafficking of narcotics as the biggest social pandemic to other countries, and it has so far�paid a lot of human and financial costs.�

The Iranian parliamentary official further criticized the Europeans� slow pace in taking practical measures to continue trade with Iran under the US sanctions, saying �while Iran is waiting for Europe to accelerate its actions, they are killing time.�

Meanwhile, he said that Iran will continue its relations with Europe.

He went on to point to Iran nuclear deal also known as the JCPOA, saying that �the JCPOA is not merely a nuclear deal, but it shows the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields at the international level.�

Dragan Todorovic, for his part, criticized using sanctions as a political tool against other countries, pointing out that �the sanctions against Iran are not international and have no effect on the relations between Iran and Serbia." He added that Serbia will�continue its cooperation with Iran at higher levels.

The ambassador of Serbia to Tehran also referred to the Serbian policy of developing relations with Iran, saying �we are examining various ways for expanding economic relations between the two countries.�

Referring to the importance of Iran's role in the fight against terrorism, Todorovic stated that not only Iran does not support terrorism, but it is a target of terrorism.

He added that�studies showed that there are no Shia terrorist organizations�in the world.

The Serbian ambassador to Tehran positively assessed the inter-parliamentary relations between Iran and Serbia and said �Serbia is seeking to expand its relations with Iran in all areas.�
