IRNA - Five abducted Iranian guards have been safely recovered with the concentrated efforts of Pakistani law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and armed forces, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal tweeted on Thursday.
The spokesman added that the guards were in good health and being handed over to Iranian authorities. Concentrated efforts under the vigilance of the military leadership are on to recover the other guards, Dr Faisal added.
At least 12 Iranian guards were reported to have been abducted near the Pak-Afghan border last month.
In a meeting held on October 17, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had assured his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif of Pakistans active efforts to recover the missing guards.
