IRNA - Seyyed Hossein Mousavian, a researcher at Princeton University in the United States and a former member of the nuclear negotiating group, says the US has failed over the last forties to realize its policies through sanctions.
Asked whether Iran could tolerate losing billions of dollars in oil revenues, Mousavian told Russian RT TV in London that Iran has enough experience to overcome the sanctions because it has experienced a variety of multilateral and international sanctions over the last forty years and has come up with resistance.
He added that there is no doubt that Iran has suffered heavy economic losses due to the US economic sanctions, but the US has failed to enforce its policies through sanctions over the past forty years.
He noted that now, the United States is pursuing two goals of new sanctions against Iran: First, the complete collapse of the economy, and the second is regime change, which will fail in both cases.
In addition to that, the conditions are different, he added.
Indeed, by imposing sanctions, the United States has violated the UN Security Council resolution, and other global powers have been united to defend Iran nuclear deal, he opined.
