Iran embassy in London ready to help Iran International staff

MNA The Iranian Ambassador to London Hamid Baeidinejad expressed the embassys readiness to help out the Iranian staff of the UK-based Iran International who intend to end their cooperation with the TV network.

"After the exposure of affiliation of the UK-based Persian-language networks, especially Iran International TV, some of their staff contacted the Iranian embassy in London, expressing their concern over the legal threats posed by those networks should they stop working for them, wrote Hamid Baeidinejad in a Persian tweet on Saturday.

The embassy has an experienced lawyer at hand to give those people legal consultation, the Iranian ambassador added.

On October 31, the British newspaper the Guardian revealed that UK-based Iran International TV station is being funded through a secretive offshore entity and a company whose director is a Saudi Arabian businessman with close links to the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.

After the Iran International aired an interview with a spokesman for a separatist and extremist group behind the recent deadly terrorist attack in the southern city of Ahvaz, the Iranian ambassador filed a lawsuit at the UKs communications regulator Ofcom.
