FNA - Iran's new Ambassador to Beirut Seyed Mohammad Jalal Firouznia said that his country is able to turn the US sanctions into an opportunity which can be used by all the regional states.
The US pressures and sanctions will be turned into an opportunity that all regional states will use it, Firouznia was quoted as saying by the Arabic-language al-Ahd news website, addressing a meeting with the Lebanese media activists and journalists in Beirut on Thursday.
He also underlined Iran's preparedness to help the Lebanese government and nation with regards to its policy of non-interference in other countries' internal affairs.
US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington would no longer remain part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and promised to re-impose the highest level of economic sanctions against Iran.
The Iranian officials have downplayed the embargoes and underlined that the US should understand that sanctions and pressures can never force other countries to accept Washington's dictated policies.
"The Americans are addicted to sanctions (against others). God willing, we can show to the Americans that they are forced to give up their addiction. We believe that the world has come to this conclusion that the US should abandon its addiction to sanctions," Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, addressing a forum of the Iranian envoys in foreign states and representatives of the private sector in Tehran in July.
He referred to the gap created between the US and Europe, specially in economic fields, and said, "Of course, I am not nave to say that we can push the US and Europe into confrontation. We should use the gap between them and should not turn into a bridge for their gap."
Zarif underscored that the US sanctions against Iran would create opportunities for the country which should be used, including interaction with the middle-sized and small European companies which could help the Iranian private sector's further flourishing.
