IRNA � Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the relations between Iran and China are strong and Tehran has been assured that Beijing will continue its trade relations with Iran.


Zarif made the remarks in an interview with Chinese TV channel 'CGTN'.

'China is Iran�s number one trading partner. We believe that our relations with China are strong and we have been assured that China will continue its trade dealings with Iran,' Zarif was quoted as saying.

On US threats against Iran, Zarif said, �Do not ever threaten an Iranian because Iranians are allergic to threats. The U.S. should try to respect instead of threats,' he added.

Despite US reimposition of sanctions on Iran, Tehran and Beijing have taken strides to develop ties over the past few years.

Earlier in his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister, China FM Wang Yi said that China is still complying with its commitments under the JCPOA.
