IRNA - An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale shook Ardal in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province on Tuesday.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 6:12 hours local time (2:42 GMT) at the depth of 10 km underground.
The epicenter of the quake was located at 32.15 degrees longitude and 50.62 degrees latitude.
The quake happened at 4 km of Ardal, 13 km of Naghan and 16 km of Junqan.
No report has so far been released on the likely casualties or damage to property.
Iran sits on major fault lines and is prone to near-daily earthquakes.
