Financial Tribune - The domestic petrochemical industry is well placed in the global market and plans to expand, said the director of planning and development at the state-run National Petrochemical Company.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 12th International Iran Plast Exhibition in Tehran, Farnaz Alavi said �Iran's petrochemical sector has a good presence in international markets and we have been able to sell in Asia and Europe,� NIPNA , the National Petrochemical Company's news agency, quoted her as saying.

With abundant hydrocarbon resources and the private sector�s new investments, Iran is making efforts to maintain its global status in the sector and broaden its scope.
