MNA � Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi deplored the loss of dozens after a ferry sank in Tanzania's Lake Victoria,.

Ghasemi expressed deep condolences of Iran to the government and people of Tanzania and the bereaved family of victims.

A large boat was carrying some 400 to 500 passengers between two islands in Lake Victoria on Friday when it suddenly capsized.

The relief and rescue workers have thus far managed to save 37 passengers.
