Judiciary dealing with disrupting ties between Iran and Iraq

IRNA - Iran's head of the judiciary said that it will deal with media that sow the seed of discord between the people of Iran and Iraq.

Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani emphasized on the necessity of neutralizing enemy media plots to the extent possible at a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council officials on Monday, stating that the enemy was seeking to divide the people of Iran and Iraq.

He cited an example in this regard and stated, 'In recent days, in order to provoke our beloved people, rumors that Iraqi pilgrims in Mashad have done certain acts of dishonor. On the other hand, we witnessed the sedition in Basra.'

Ayatollah Larijani went on to say, 'The enemies are clearly seeking to create a confrontation between the people of Iran and Iraq, especially among the Shiites.'

The Iraqi Hashd ul-sha'abi chief said there are credible documents that the US Consulate in Basra was involved in the attack on the Iranian Consulate in this city.

The head of the judiciary emphasized, 'We must be intelligent against the enemy who does not have any care of Imam Reza (AS) pilgrims. Just a few weeks ago, when such issues were raised, I told the Tehran Prosecutor that this is the beginning of a sedition and should deal with the media that highlight this issue and thus make the confrontation between the people of Iran and Iraq

'Of course, there may be a number of misconducters that should be addressed, but highlighting the issue and generalizing it to the Iraqi pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS) by some media requires to be prosecuted.

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said in another part of his speech referring to the Supreme Leader's statements during the meeting with members of the Assembly of Experts, the enemy's media war was very significant and said, 'The enemy is pushing for a full-fledged economic war with the support of media.'
