IRNA - President Hassan Rouhani returned to Tehran Sunday night after participating in the summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states held in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
Rouhani, who arrived in Kazakhstan Sunday morning, besides delivering a speech at the summit signed the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, along with his counterparts from Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
On the sidelines of the summit, Rouhani held separate meetings with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, President Vladimir Putin of Russia and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and discussed with them ways of expanding mutual ties.
The summit followed the December meeting of the foreign ministers of the five littoral states in Moscow wherein the ministers prepared the text of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.
