IRNA Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Wednesday described the role of Russia in saving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as 'positive'.
Russia had a positive role in the JCPOA and after the US pull-out from the nuclear deal, other sides of the deal should find new mechanisms for its implementation, Ali Larijani said in a meeting with Chairman of the Russian State Duma's Foreign Affairs Leonid Slutsky.
Iran-Russia trade relations are being developed on a daily basis, he added.
Larijani underlined development of the two countries' relations in the banking field.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to Iran-Russia cooperation on Syria, and said that despite the complicated situation, there, the two countries can help resolve the crisis through cooperation.
US President Donald Trump announced on May 8 that Washington would pull out of Iran's nuclear deal and re-impose nuclear sanctions on the country.
This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the global peace and security.
