Iran, Sri Lanka discuss economic ties, regional, intl. issues
MNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with his Sri Lankan counterpart in Colombo discussing bilateral economic relations and the most important regional and international issues.

During their first-round meeting, the two sides discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation and further explore fields of bilateral ties, including in oil and energy, petrochemicals, construction, banking and agriculture. The two countries also examined closer cooperation on global issues.

Zarif and Tilak Janak Marapana also held the second round of meeting on Wednesday, and studied the most important regional and international issues and other topics of interest.

The second round of talks between foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Sri Lanka took place along with lunch and talks on the most important regional and international issues and other topics of interest.

Iranian foreign minister also held met with Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Wednesday and exchanged views on the latest developments in bilateral relations, regional and international issues.
