SHANA - South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) injected 39 billion cubic meters of sweetened natural gas to the national gas distribution network in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.
According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hadi Hashemzadeh Farhang, SPGC CEO, said the figure shows a 16-percent rise in the plant's productivity compared to the same period last year. The plant also supplied 549 mcm of natural gas to petrochemical plants as feedstock during the same three months.
Furthermore, the CEO added, SPGC injected 4 billion cubic meters of sour gas to the 5th Iran gas trunkline (IGAT-V) during the period.
It also produced 55.017 million barrels of gas condensate, 202,527 tons of sulfur, 792,356 tons of ethane, 519,467 tons of propane and 287,256 tons of butane during the period, Mr. Farhang added.
SPGC is a strategic unit in Iran's oil and gas industry which accounts for over 70% of Iran's total gas production annually.
