IRNA A senior official in Afghanistan's Prosecutor General Office announced on Saturday that more than 4,000 Afghan prisoners are to be extradited to Afghanistan from Iran and Tajikistan.
Aziz Ahmad Sarbaz said more than 4,000 Afghan prisoners are in Iran and 174 others are in Tajikistan's prisons, who will be extradited to Afghanistan soon.
He said that 1,000 from 4,000 Afghan prisoners in Iran have been identified and even 632 of them were extradited to Afghanistan recently.
The Afghan judicial official did not elaborate that this move had been upon an extradition agreement between the two countries or not?
In October 2017, 205 Afghan prisoners were extradited to Afghanistan through Dogharoun border point.
Tehran and Kabul have three agreements in the field of judiciary, including 'transfer of convicts', 'extradition of culprits' and' judicial assistance', which were signed in 2006 and were ratified by parliament in the year 2011.
