Iran, who suffered a 1-0 loss atthe hands ofSpain onWednesday, will face reigning European champions Portugal intheir next World Cup encounter inSaransk onMonday. The game will kick offat 21:00 Moscow time (18:00 GMT). Both teams have a chance toqualify forthe roundof 16, withPortugal topping Group B withfour points, and Iran trailing them byone point.
"I don't agree that we've made any serious mistakes inthe last game [against Spain] We just took the risk, we tried toplay more aggressively, tried toscore, butdidn't manage to. But we learn fromthese mistakes and use this experience inthe future. We have many young guys [in the team] In 2014, we got tired atthe World Cup, and now we have a different situation. We're going strong toachieve result," Shojaei told journalists.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked offon June 14 and will continue untilJuly 15, withthe matches being played in11 cities acrossRussia.
