IRNA Majlis vice speaker Ali Motahari said on Monday that the Islamic Republic of Iran accepts no change or amendment in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and believes that the treaty should be implemented practically.
He said in a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia IIyas Mayomed-Salamovich Umakhanov in Moscow on Monday.
In the meeting, Motahari expressed satisfaction over expansion of political, economic, cultural and parliamentary relations between the two countries.
There exists a huge untapped economic and cultural potential in both countries that taking advantage of them will help increase level of mutual relations and cooperation, Motahari said.
Continued joint security cooperation between Iran and Russia in Syria helped restore stability and calm in the region and eradication of terrorism in the country, he said.
The US withdrawal from the JCOPA indicates the country's disloyalty to international norms and accords, he said.
Motahari also called for immediate implementation of the agreements already reached between the two countries such as removal of banking barriers and substitution of local currencies in economic transactions between the two countries.
Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia, Salamovich Umakhanov, for his part welcomed the Iranian parliamentary delegation and said positive ties between Iran and Russia persists and the Russian federation welcomes and supports expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Disgraceful behavior and bullying policies of the US endanger the interests of other countries round the globe, Umakhanov said.
The international community and Russia spared no efforts to resolve Iran's nuclear program and the US cannot ignore such measures, he said.
Umakhanov called for expansion of cooperation between the two countries' provinces and exchange of economic delegations from state-run and private sectors.
Motahari, leading a parliamentary delegation, arrived in Russia at the official invitation of Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia to attend the international parliamentary gathering in Moscow.
