Israel seeking intensified pressure on Iran: Palestinian envoy

Tasnim The representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Iran slammed Israels moves to consign the Palestinian issue to oblivion and said the Tel Aviv regime is seeking to increase pressure against Iran, the main supporter of Palestinians.

In fact, we are witnessing that they (Israel and its allies) are seeking to make the Palestinian issue fade into oblivion, Nasser Abu Sharif said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran.

Today, the whole region has been affected by Israels corruption, he said, adding, Pressures on Iran have their roots in Israeli plots.

The Israeli regime provokes US moves in the region, such as the relocation of the US embassy to al-Quds (Jerusalem), the Palestinian figure went on to say.

US President Donald Trump declared on December 6, 2017 that his administration would begin the process of moving the American embassy in Tel Aviv to Quds.

After months of global outcry, the US opened its embassy in Quds in a ceremony attended by a White House delegation and Israeli regime officials on May 14.

Israel has occupied East Quds since the 1967 Middle East war. It annexed the area in 1980 and sees it as its exclusive domain. Under international law, the area is considered to be occupied territory.
