IRNA Iran Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi and Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on Wednesday reviewed issues of mutual interests.
Akhundi, heading a delegation, is in Turkmenistan to attend the International Meeting on Silk Road.
He welcomed inauguration of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.
He stressed Turkmen border's role in promotion of trade, transportation and transit ties among five Caspian Sea Littoral States and in regional cooperation in the transportation and transit fields.
Both sides referred to historical, cultural and traditional commonalities between Iran and Turkmenistan.
They also underlined firm determination to develop regional and international interactions based on good neighborliness.
The Turkmenbashi International Seaport is the main passenger harbour and cargo port in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan. It is located in the eastern part of the Caspian Sea. Regular lines serve routes to Baku, Aktau and Astrakhan.
