MNA � Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan Republic discussed connecting electrical grids of the three countries and creating a North-South electricity corridor.


The trilateral meeting was attended by Azerbaijan Republic�s Deputy Oil Minister Natiq Abbasov, Iranian Deputy Minister of Energy Homayoun Haeri and Deputy Energy Minister of Russian Federation.

For his part, Haeri Iran�s Deputy Energy Minister said that Iran is interesting in implementing the project of connecting the electrical grids, adding, �the three countries of Iran, Azerbaijan Republic and Russian Federation enjoy high potential and capacity for exchanging electricity.�

The power officials of the three countries agreed on the next meeting in June in Moscow as well as drafting the joint agreement.

It should be noted that a final protocol was also signed and sealed by the three officials.
